Given the ubiquity of the mobile phone among Gen Y, this development isn't that much of a surprise:
"This year, thousands of punters will whip out their mobile
phones or digital cameras to take a picture of their favourite band
at gigs. Some will simply snap at the stage. Others will hug their
mates, extend their arm and take pictures of themselves with the
band in the background.
Annoying? Yes. Bragging rights? Definitely.
Legal? Not really." [via & twitter]
This actually makes perfect sense. It also seems like there's an opportunity here for a youth and/or music marketing folks to create a really cool and interactive concert promotion tied around mobile phones.
